Dear readers,

did you know that the installed capacity of all wind power stations will increase tenfold from the year 2008 to 2030? And that is a conservative estimate, the “advanced” prognosis predicts an increase by a factor of 30 (GWEC). The use of the kinetic energy of the wind is a global topic; from a political, societal and economical point of view and at the same time is an enormous challenge for all those involved. In this issue of the Sigma Report we would like to report how the companies of the Sigma Pool approach these challenges. It is a question of developing new technologies, trying new ways of cooperating, and confronting new dimensions.
